Last week, Nobia was presented with the newly established award, TMF Nova. An award given, in various categories, to member companies of the Swedish Federation of Wood and Furniture Industry (TMF), that can inspire others through their way of working and thinking. Nobia won in the Competence Supply category for the work with Nobia Academy.
“I’m so happy, what an honor to receive the award. We have come really far during these two years and it makes me proud to see the high interest and that the majority of the employees have taken the chance to be part of the program” says Wiktoria Rydin, Project manager for Nobia Academy.
The educational program, Nobia Academy, came into being as a consequence of the decision to build a new factory in Jönköping. The new factory will have a higher degree of automation and digitization, meaning a shift in certain tasks and skill requirements for the employees.
The program includes four different areas. All employees are first and foremost offered a validation of their competence including additional training in order to reach industrial technology base level. Everyone is also offered a more specified training, within five different categories. Close to 20 of the current employees have been selected to Nobia´s trainee program, where they study a higher vocational education combined with practical tasks at Nobia. Last but not least, preparations for a leadership training is underway.
"It really is an incredible journey we are on and Nobia Academy is the result of fantastic teamwork between our talented employees and partners," concludes Wiktoria.
